Research profile

At FAU, our motto of moving knowledge expresses our wish to pull together and push ahead with our central priorities for the future –  freedom and responsibility, life and health,  sustainability and resilience. Our Profile and Research Centers are the engine driving groundbreaking findings from the interdisciplinary collaboration within our university which offers the entire spectrum of academic disciplines. The Competence Centers provide all disciplines with the infrastructure and expertise resulting from their research.

The Research Focus Areas at the five faculties highlight the wide range of disciplines which are covered in research and teaching at FAU. Just like FAU’s interfaculty Key Research Priorities, each of the Research Focus Areas at the faculties is also supported by several professors, the research has a high level of national and international visibility, and research and teaching are closely linked.

The curriculum also covers preparation for the state examination, German-French law, business law, and the BA in Law and Politics.

Research Focus Areas of the School of Business, Economics and Society

The School has eight key research areas that focus on important current issues, draw on the expertise of researchers from a wide range of fields, and have excellent networks of connections with other leading research institutions and regional partners from industry.

FAU WiSo has always developed its research priorities by optimally combining its own academic strengths and potentials with those of FAU, its practice partners, and spin-off companies, while also leveraging the locational advantages of the city of Nuremberg and the entire metropolitan region. In doing so, FAU WiSo has never seen itself solely as a driver of innovation. It has consistently taken up impulses from the business world, drawing inspiration from practical challenges and suggestions, and developing solutions in close collaboration with its partners.
